About This Spot

Stepping into Island Boy Grill in the heart of Coron Town Proper feels like settling into a well-loved local retreat where the rhythm of the island gently pulses in the background. The space carries a casual warmth that invites you to unwind—whether you’re escaping the midday sun or seeking a relaxed evening by the sea. There’s an ease here, a comfortable blend of familiarity and subtle excitement, where conversations flow as naturally as the steady live music that accompanies the night.

The mood strikes a balance between laid-back and lively, shaped by the glow of polite attentiveness and the occasional strum of a guitar or gentle hum of a live band. It’s the kind of place where the day's pace slows, encouraging you to savor the moments shared around the table with friends or fellow travelers.

Food at Island Boy Grill is woven into the experience with a thoughtful simplicity. The kitchen’s offerings lean into the rich flavors of Palawan’s bounty, from fresh seafood to comforting local dishes, all served with a sincerity that reflects honest craftsmanship. The aroma of garlic and soy sauce mingles with the subtle char from the grill, hinting at meals made for sharing and stories swapped over bowls of steaming crab or crispy fried squid. Vegetables stir-fried until just tender and the faint spice from lechon kawali or barbeque add layers of warmth without overwhelming the palate.

What gives Island Boy Grill its charm isn’t just the food but the way it holds space for authentic connection. Whether you find yourself tucked away during a bustling lunch or soaking in the evening’s music, the friendly service feels intuitive, mindful of your comfort without ever rushing the experience. It’s a spot where both locals and visitors come together, drawn by the honesty of the place and the simple joy of a good meal shared in good company.

Great food and great price! The price of seafood are set here, not like in Boracay you need to bargain with the restaurant every time. And they are honest you don’t need to worry that they change your fresh seafood to frozen ones I would definitely recommend Mantis to every one! Also we tried steamed plain flavour with garlic and soy sauce dip. I would say it’s really good. The salt and pepper as well very good. Garlic Kang Kong has a flavor of coconut I think it was because they cook it with coconut oil? Not really used to it but as a Kangkong fan it’s fine! Coconut shake tooooooo sweet, mango shake was sour, but good I like it. Cooking took quite long time but it worth waiting! Ps: Our price is high because we ordered seafood.

The dishes are good for sharing but not if you're a heavy eater. Price is comparable to the others restaurant around the area. With background music to add to the Christmas atmosphere. Place is cozy even at noon when the sun is at its peak. Another alternative to consider...

Yes - it's on the pricey side but I enjoyed the live band, which performs nightly from 7-10pm. Had the sizzling squid and lato salad. More than enough for a solo traveller. The lobsters would have cost me P1000+ (!) - no need. I was told well-heeled mainland Chinese tourists easily drop P20k for the fresh seafood here. Good for the seafood and live band.

If you want local eatery for your meal this is one of the places. Choices of food on the menu is a lot. Taste is not too bad. Price is not on the budget end but they have a live band to entertain you during dinner time.

All good, not that bad. If you want to have more grilled food from Coron, this is another place. I was unable to try their live seafood selection. I only tried their buttered shrimp and old school pork skewers aka barbeque. All is good. Be prepared for some heat though. Service was good. Attentive and friendly staff. Good music. Live music. Not that bad at all.

Good food, nicely arranged restaurant. Large portions of food. For one appetizer, two main dishes, and two beers: 1200 PHP.
